Job Summary

 

This position blends daily operational accounts payable management with general ledger support. You will take ownership of the full vendor payment cycle, resolve complex account discrepancies, execute regular balance sheet reconciliations, and actively support the month-end closing process.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable (Primary Focus): Process high-volume vendor invoices, execute weekly ACH/wire payments, and maintain accurate W-9 and 1099 compliance documentation.
  • Vendor & System Management: Resolve vendor discrepancies professionally, manage platform inquiries, and review AP aging reports to escalate past-due items.
  • General Ledger Support: Formulate journal entries, reconcile assigned balance sheet and bank accounts, and assist with cash management workflows.
  • Month-End Close: Support the month-end AP and general ledger closing cycles, including recording accruals and verifying cutoff procedures.
  • Audit & Analysis: Prepare detailed financial schedules and documentation for external auditors, and contribute to ad-hoc financial analysis.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 0 to 2 years of corporate accounting or hands-on AP experience.
  • Technical Foundation: Solid command of basic accounting principles (debits/credits, GAAP) and strong data integrity skills.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas) and exposure to ERP software like NetSuite, QuickBooks, or SAP.
  • Workplace Competencies: Strong time management to hit tight deadlines, absolute confidentiality, and clear communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AP Automation: Hands-on experience with automated tools like Bill.com or RAMP.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with sales/use tax and 1099 reporting regulations.
  • Professional Goals: CPA candidacy or an active plan to pursue a CPA license.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
